Beef Brisket
- 2 large onions, sliced King Sooper's 1 lb For $0.99 thru 02/09
- 1 beef brisket (4 lb./1.8 kg)
- 1 can (10 fl oz/284 mL) condensed onion soup
- 1-1/4 cups dry red wine
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup Heinz Tomato Ketchup
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 env. (154 g) onion soup mix
- Heat oven to 350F.
- Place onions in roasting pan; top with meat.
- Mix remaining ingredients; pour over meat.
- Cover with foil; pierce foil in several places with sharp knife to vent.
- Bake 3-1/2 to 4 hours or until meat is done (160F).
- Let stand, covered, 10 min.
- before slicing.
- Serve with meat drippings.
