Hot Caramel Apple Cider

  1. Press cloves into skin of an orange.
  2. In a large stockpot, over medium-high heat, bring apple cider to a boil.
  3. Add prepared orange and cinnamon sticks.
  4. Reduce heat, and simmer on low for about 1 hour.
  5. Stir in cream and caramel sauce.
  6. Cook until just heated through.
  7. Garnish with whipping cream and ground cinnamon (or cinnamon sticks), if desired.
  8. Serve immediately.
  9. Note: Can also be made by the mug in the microwave (use a little orange juice in place of the whole orange), or in the crockpot for larger groups.
