Apricot And Walnut Scones Recipe

  1. Preheat the oven to 230 C, 450 F, Gas Mark 8.
  2. Sift the flour, salt and spice into a bowl.
  3. Rub in the fat till the mix resembles fine bread crumbs.
  4. Stir in the apricots, walnut pcs and sugar, add in the lowfat milk and mix to a soft dough.
  5. Knead gently till smooth.
  6. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a 1 cm ( 1/2 inch)
  7. thickness and cut out 8-10 rounds with a 6cm (2 1/2 inch) biscuit cutter.
  8. Transfer to a greased baking tray, brush tops with lowfat milk and bake on the middle oven shelf of the preheated oven for 8-10 min till well risen and golden.
  9. NOTES : Delicious quick and easy to make scones, suitable for vegans.
