Sauerkraut Kielbasa Soup Recipe

  1. Fry bacon in large kettle or possibly Dutch oven over medium heat till browned.
  2. Saute/fry onion and garlic in same kettle 3 min, stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir in sauerkraut, paprika, water, bouillon cubes, carrots, potatoes, caraway seeds and pepper.
  4. Bring to boiling, reduce heat and simmer, covered 30 min.
  5. Add in kielbasa, simmer 12-15 min longer.
  6. Remove kielbasa, cold slightly.
  7. Cut kielbasa in half, then into 1/2 inch slices.
  8. Return to soup, heat through.
  9. Garnish with parsley.
  10. A German favorite!
