Slow-Cooker Beef Stroganoff Made Over
- 1 lb. (450 g) cubed stewing beef Safeway 1 lb For $5.49 thru 02/09
- 4 cups halved fresh cremini mushrooms
- 1 onion, chopped King Sooper's 1 lb For $0.99 thru 02/09
- 2 Tbsp. finely chopped fresh thyme, divided
- 1/2 cup each 25%-less-sodium beef broth and water
- 3 cups yolk-free whole wheat egg noodles, uncooked
- 1/2 cup Philadelphia Herb & Garlic Light Cream Cheese Product
- Place meat in slow cooker; top with vegetables and 1 Tbsp.
- thyme.
- Add broth and water; stir.
- Cover with lid.
- Cook on LOW 6 to 8 hours (or on HIGH 3 to 4 hours).
- About 15 min.
- before serving stroganoff, cook noodles as directed on package, omitting salt.
- Drain noodles; place in large bowl.
- Add cream cheese product and remaining thyme to meat mixture in slow cooker; stir until cream cheese is completely melted and mixture is well blended.
- Add meat mixture to noodles; stir gently to combine.
