Ginger-Orange Beef Pita Sandwiches

  1. trim excess fat from beef.
  2. Cut beef lengthwise into 2-inch strips.
  3. Cut strips crosswise into 1/8-inch slices.
  4. Place beef, onion, bell pepper, and jicama in 3 1/2 to 6 quart slow cooker.
  5. Mix orange peel, orange juice, gingerrroot and salt; pour over beef and vegetables.
  6. Cover and cook on ,ow heat 4-6 hours or until beef is tender.
  7. Stir in snap pea pods.
  8. Cover and cook on low heat about 15 minutes or until pea pods are crisp-tender.
  9. Spoon mixture into pita breads.
  10. Serve with Chutney.
