Crescent Cookies

  1. Sift together the flour and salt.
  2. Set aside.
  3. In large bowl with electric mixer, mix together shortening, butter.
  4. When creamy add the sugar and blanched almonds.
  5. Mix in the flour and salt gradually.
  6. Chill.
  7. Take out a small amount of dough and roll until pencil thin.
  8. Cut into approximately 2 1/2" lengths.
  9. Put onto an ungreased cookie sheet and shape into a crescent.
  10. Bake at 325 for 12-15 minutes.
  11. Cool on pan before removing.
  12. Dip in powdered sugar before storing.
