Bleu Cheese Party Spread
- 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
- 1/4 c. cold water
- 1 (16 oz.) carton sour cream or sour half and half
- 1 (4 oz.) pkg. Bleu cheese
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- 1/4 tsp. each: oregano, parsley, salt and granulated garlic
- 1 (6 oz.) can small shrimp
- finely chopped onion, pimento stuffed olives (sliced), grated Cheddar cheese, chopped fresh tomatoes (all for garnish)
- Soften gelatin and water in a small pan.
- Bring to just a boil, stirring to dissolve gelatin, and remove from heat.
- Set aside. Combine sour cream, cheeses and spices in a processor container or mixer bowl and blend well.
- Add gelatin and blend again.
- Pour into a 10-inch decorative pie plate and refrigerate until firm, overnight is best.
- Garnish with shrimp, onion, olives, cheese and tomatoes as desired.
- Serve with crackers or bread rounds.
