Kossuth Kiflie - Half Moon Cakes
- 1/2 lb. butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 6 eggs, separated
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 c. ReaLemon lemon juice
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tsp. lemon extract
- In a
- small
- bowl,
- beat egg whites.
- Add 1/2 cup sugar and cream of tartar; set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar.
- Add
- egg yolks (2 at a time); beat well until good and creamy.
- Add
- lemon juice, vanilla and lemon extract.
- Mix baking powder
- with
- flour
- and
- add
- to mixture at low speed. Fold in egg
- white.
- Pour into greased and floured pan, 9 x 12 x 2-inches. Mix
- 1/2
- cup
- chopped
- nuts
- andt/4 cup sugar; sprinkle on top.
