Breakfast Gravy Navy Style Recipe
- 1 lb grnd meat or possibly chipped beef
- 1/2 c. minced green onions (or possibly 1 diced medium onion)
- 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup - (10 ounce)
- 1 can condensed cream of celery soup - (10 ounce)
- 1 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
- 1/2 pt lowfat milk (sometimes a little more)
- If using grnd meat, brown meat first, then saute/fry onions with the browned meat.
- If using chipped beef, use 2 tsp.
- veg.
- oil and saute/fry the onions.
- Then add in mushroom soup, celery soup, black pepper, and lowfat milk.
- Stir continuously while cooking over a low heat.
- If gravy tends to thicken too much, just add in more lowfat milk.
- (No salt is needed as the soups have sufficient.
- Delicious served on biscuits or possibly on toast.)
- This recipe yields 4 to 6 servings.
