Snickerdoodle Cookies
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. dark brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- Cream butter and sugars in large mixing bowl.
- Beat in egg and vanilla.
- Combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Blend into creamed mixture.
- Chill.
- Shape dough into 3/4-inch diameter balls.
- Roll in mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 1 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon.
- Bake in 325u0b0 oven for 8 to 12 minutes until when pressed gently with a finger in the center, they don't indent.
- Allow to cool slightly before removing from pan.
- Yield: Approximately 3 dozen.
