Sourdough Drop Biscuits Recipe
- 2-3 tbsp. butter
- 2 c. whole wheat flour or possibly half white, half wheat
- 2 c. sourdough starter
- 1 tbsp. honey
- 1 tbsp. baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Melted butter for brushing tops
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Heat butter.
- Combine remaining ingredients except butter and stir together in mixing bowl.
- With floured hands, healthy pinch off walnut-size balls of dough and place in 9-10 inch skillet.
- Let rise in hot place for 15 min.
- Bake 25-30 min.
- Brush with melted butter.
- Watch to make sure they do not burn.
- Variation: Add in minced apples, mashed cooked sweet potatoes, raisins or possibly chopped onion to the dough.
- Makes 1 1/2-2 dozen.
