Southpaw Apple Cookies
- 1 1/2 c. unbleached white flour
- 1 c. whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground allspice
- 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/2 c. margarine (at room temperature)
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. unsulphured molasses
- 1 c. peeled, grated apples
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- Preheat oven to 375u0b0.
- Combine flours and spices in small mixing bowl; set aside.
- Cream together the margarine and sugar. Blend in egg and molasses.
- Add to dry ingredients, stirring well to blend.
- Stir in grated apple and nuts.
- Drop by teaspoon onto lightly oiled cookie sheet.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until light golden brown.
- Makes 3 to 4 dozen.
