Carob Chip Sunflower Seed Cookies
- 1/2 c. soft butter or margarine (or 1/4 c. oil)
- 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 egg (if using oil, use 2 eggs)
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
- 1/2 c. wheat germ
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. carob or chocolate chips
- 1/2 c. hulled sunflower seeds
- 1/2 c. unsweetened shredded coconut
- Cream together margarine (or oil) and sugar.
- Add eggs and vanilla and beat well.
- Mix together flour, wheat germ, soda and salt and add to butter/sugar mixture.
- Mix well.
- Add carob chips, sunflower seeds and coconut.
- Drop in rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets.
- Bake in a 350u0b0 oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Makes about 3 dozen.
