Texas Barbecue Pasta Sauce
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1/3 c. finely chopped green pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 2/3 c. crushed tomatoes (15 oz. can)
- 1 c. tomato sauce (8 oz. can)
- 5 tsp. molasses
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 tsp. prepared mustard
- 1/4 tsp. ground red pepper
- 1/4 tsp. chili powder
- 1/4 tsp. red hot sauce
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. Skinner spaghetti (uncooked) or 1 (12 oz.) pkg. Skinner Lone Star pasta (uncooked)
- In large skillet heat oil.
- Saute onion, green pepper and garlic until tender, but not brown.
- Blend in remaining ingredients except pasta.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions; drain.
- Serve sauce over hot cooked pasta.
- Makes 6 servings.
