Sugar Crusted Apples

  1. About 1 1/2 hours before serving: Preheat oven to 350 F. In bowl, mix sugar, flour and cinnamon; with fork or pastry blender, cut in butter.
  2. In cup, beat egg slightly and brush on apples.
  3. Coat apples with sugar mixture; place in greased, shallow baking dish and fill centers with any remaining sugar mixture.
  4. Pour cider in bottom of dish.
  5. Bake 1 hour or until apples are just tender.
  6. To serve: Spoon sauce from baking dish over apples.
  7. Makes 6 servings.
