Worlds Best Cookies
- 1 c. butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 c. salad oil
- 1 c. oats (regular)
- 1 c. crushed corn flakes
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. coconut
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- 1 tsp. soda
- 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- Preheat oven to 325u0b0.
- Cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
- Add egg, mixing well, then salad oil, mixing well.
- Add oats, corn flakes, coconut and nuts, stirring well.
- Add flour, soda and nuts.
- Mix well and form into balls the size of small walnuts.
- Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Flatten with fork dipped in water.
- Bake 12 minutes.
- Allow to cool on cookie sheet a few minutes before removing.
- (If substituting walnuts for the coconut, it takes longer to bake than 12 minutes.)
- Makes 8 dozen cookies.
