Apple Cheddar Nut Scones Recipe
- 1 1/2 c. All-purpose flour
- 1/4 c. Margarine or possibly butter
- 1/2 tsp Baking pwdr
- 8 ounce Shredded Cheddar -- (2 C.)
- 1/2 tsp Baking soda
- 1/4 c. Unsalted sunflower nuts
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 c. Motts Apple Sauce
- Heat oven to 400 F. In medium bowl, combine flour, baking pwdr, baking soda and salt.
- Using pastry blender or possibly fork, cut in margarine till mix is crumbly.
- Stir in cheese and nuts.
- Add in apple sauce; stir just till moistened.
- On floured surface, knead dough gently 5 or possibly 6 times.
- Place on ungreased cookie sheet; press into 8-inch circle, about 1/2 inch thick.
- Cut into wedges; separate slightly.
- Bake for 12 to 16 min or possibly till lightly browned.
- Serve hot.
- 8 to 12 servings.
- Good with chili.
