Punch Bowl Cake
- 1 yellow cake mix
- 2 (3 1/2 oz.) boxes instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 (16 oz.) can cherry pie mix
- 1 (16 oz.) can fruit cocktail
- 1 (16 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained
- 2 (8 oz.) cartons whipped topping
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chopped pecans
- 1 (7 oz.) pkg. flaked coconut
- Prepare cake mix per directions.
- Bake in 3 (9-inch) layer pans (layers will be thinner).
- Set aside to cool.
- Mix pudding according to directions.
- Refrigerate to set.
- Using 1/3 of each of the ingredients in order begin to layer them in 1 large glass punch bowl, starting with the cake:
- 1 (9-inch) cake (broken into pieces), 1/3 cherry pie filling, 1/3 fruit cocktail, 1/3 pineapple, 1/3 topping and 1/3 coconut.
- Repeat 2 more times.
- Refrigerate until served.
- Serves 35.
