Angel Food Dessert Recipe

  1. Make custard of egg yolks, sugar & lemon juice.
  2. Cook in double boiler till mix coats a spoon.
  3. Remove from heat & add in gelatin that has been dissolved in cool water.
  4. Add in grated lemon peel.
  5. Cold & mix in egg whites to that the last 3/4 c. of sugar was added.
  6. Break cake into bite-sized pcs.
  7. Pour custard over cake & be sure all cake pcs are coated with custard.
  8. Pour into well-greased cake pan.
  9. Chill overnight.
  10. Remove from pan.
  11. Slice & serve with whipped cream.
