Brie En Croute
- 1 wheel brie cheese (8oz)
- 1 (8 ounce) package crescent roll dough
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 12 cup smucker's pure apricot jam
- 12 teaspoon chipotle hot pepper sauce (optional)
- 14 cup walnuts, toasted, chopped
- Preheat oven to 350F
- Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment.
- Unroll dough and place on lined baking sheet.
- Press seams together to form a rectangle.
- Place brie in the middle of dough.
- Brush edges lightly with beaten egg, and then wrap around brie, leaving the brie uncovered in the center.
- It should look like a volcano.
- Bake in a preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.
- Combine the jam and hot pepper sauce, if using.
- Spoon jam into well on top of brie, and sprinkle with toasted nuts.
- Let set at least 30 minutes before serving so cheese can reform.
