Homemade Plain Yogurt

  1. Pour the gallon of milk into a deep stainless steel cooking pot.
  2. Bring the entire gallon of milk to a boil; watch it closely because it will spill over in no time!
  3. Remove from the heat and allow it to cool down to room temperature.
  4. Add the plain non-fat yogurt; mix it very well, cover the pot, and wrap the pot nice and tight with an old bath towel.
  5. Let it sit overnight on your kitchen counter.
  6. In the morning, transfer the yogurt into a deep dish, uncovered, and put it in the fridge.
  7. You can cover it once it is set and cool.
  8. Let it sit in the fridge for a few hours before you serve it.
