Hearty Cabbage and Vegetable Soup

  1. Cut the potatoes, carrot, and wiener sausages into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Roughly chop the cabbage.
  3. (I shredded it so that it's easy to eat for my kids this time.)
  4. Stir-fry the wiener sausages in a pot.
  5. When the oil renders from the sausages, add carrot and continue stir-frying.
  6. Pour in water.
  7. When it starts to boil, skim off the scum, and add the cabbage and consomme.
  8. Add potatoes, and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  9. Cover with a lid, and simmer until the potatoes become soft.
  10. Finally, taste the soup.
  11. If it's too thin, add a little bit of salt and pepper, and it's done.
