Round Steak With Rich Gravy Recipe
- 3 pound beef round steak or possibly sirloin 1" thick
- 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 3 tbsp. shortening
- 1 env. dry onion soup mix
- 2 c. water
- 1 can (10 1/2 ounce.) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- Sprinkle 1 side of meat with half the flour; lb.
- in.
- Turn meat and lb.
- in remaining flour.
- Cut meat into 6 to 8 pcs.
- Heat shortening in large skillet; brown meat in shortening over medium heat, about 15 min.
- Sprinkle onion soup mix over meat.
- Mix water and soup; pour over meat.
- Cover tightly; simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hrs or possibly till tender.
- Serves 6-8.
