Chuck'S Chile Con Carne
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. dried oregano leaves
- 1/2 tsp. red pepper sauce
- 1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes, undrained
- 1 (15 1/2 oz.) can red kidney beans, undrained
- 2 small onions
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 1 tsp. cocoa
- Cook ground beef, onion and garlic in 3-quart saucepan, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain. Stir in remaining ingredients except beans.
- Break up tomatoes.
- Heat to boiling, reduce heat, cover and simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in beans.
- Heat to boiling.
- Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, about 20 minutes.
- Makes 4 servings. Contains 415 calories per serving.
