Greek-style pinwheels
- 2 teaspoons oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 250g beef mince Safeway 1 lb For $5.99 thru 02/09
- 3 tablespoon tomato paste
- 250g spinach, defrosted and squeezed to remove excess juice
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 cup toasted pinenuts
- 2 sheets puff pastry
- 125g block PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened and cut into chunks
- Heat oil in a large frypan, add sliced onion and saute until translucent.
- Add mince to the pan and cook until evenly browned.
- Stir through tomato paste, spinach, oregano and pinenuts and cook for 2 minutes.
- Spread half the filling evenly over each sheet leaving a 2cm border at the right hand edge.
- Place Philly* chunks over meat on the left hand side and roll up like a swiss roll towards the right hand side.
- Cut each log into 3cm slices and place on a lined baking tray.
- Bake at 200C for 20 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
- Serve warm or cold.
