Chocolate Pecan Bars

  1. In a small mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in flour.
  3. Press into a greased 15 x 10 x 1 inch baking pan.
  4. Bake at 350F for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, melt chocolate with corn syrup over low heat; stir until smooth.
  6. Remove from the heat.
  7. Stir in the sugar, eggs and vanilla.
  8. Add pecans.
  9. Spread evenly over hot crust.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until firm around the edges.
  11. Cool on a wire rack.
  12. Melt chocolate and shortening; stir until smooth.
  13. Drizzle over bars.
