Basic Steamed Mussels Recipe

  1. Heat extra virgin olive oil in large pot with a cover.
  2. Add in onion and garlic.
  3. Saute/fry till onion is transparent.
  4. Add in mussels and wine and cover tightly.
  5. Cook over medium-high heat for 5 min.
  6. Shake pot briskly to mix.
  7. Turn off heat and allow to stand 2 min.
  8. Mussels should be opened.
