Pot Roast with Wine

  1. Heat the oil in a large pot and brown the meat all over.
  2. Remove the meat.
  3. Add onions and mushrooms to pot and saute.
  4. Return meat to pot.
  5. Add the tomatoes, water, wine, mixed herbs, sugar, salt and pepper.
  6. Cook until tender, approximately 2 hours.
  7. Let the meat rest for 10 minutes before carving and serve the pot juices alongside the slices of beef.
