Homemade Apple Sausage
- 5 lb ground pork (lean)
- 2 tbsp sea salt
- 3 large apples (peeled, cored, and grated)
- 3 cup Apple sauce
- 1 cup maple syrup
- Combine all ingredients in a stand mixer.
- Mix for 3 minutes at slow speed scraping sides and beater a couple times to ensure the meat is mixed very well.
- Seal with plastic wrap so it is air tight and refrigerate for 24 hours to allow the flavor to blend well.
- Using a sausage stuffer, stuff the casing size you prefer.
- And tie off into links of approximately 8 inches, less if using breakfast links.
- Seal in airtight freezer bags, and freeze for up to 6 months.
