Broiled Asparagus and Artichokes With White Wine Brown Butter

  1. Position a rack 6 inches from the broiler element and heat the broiler on high.
  2. On a large rimmed baking sheet, toss the asparagus and artichokes with the olive oil, 1/2 teaspoons salt, and 1/8 teaspoons pepper.
  3. Broil until browned and tender, about 6 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat until fragrant and beginning to brown, about 1-1/2 minutes.
  5. Carefully whisk in the wine (it may splatter).
  6. Toss the asparagus and artichokes with the brown butter and the lemon juice.
  7. Season to taste with salt and pepper and serve.
