Cherry Almond Cheese Squares

  1. PREPARE dessert topping mix as directed on package.
  2. Arrange half of the wafers on bottom of 13 x 9-inch (33 x 23 cm) pan, cutting to fit if necessary.
  3. BEAT cream cheese until smooth.
  4. Gradually add 1 cup (250 mL) of the milk.
  5. Combine pudding mix, remaining milk and extract; blend until smooth.
  6. Add to cream cheese mixture and blend well.
  7. Fold in dessert topping.
  8. SPREAD half of the pudding mixture over wafers.
  9. Arrange remaining wafers on top and top with remaining pudding mixture.
  10. FREEZE 2 hours.
  11. Let stand at room temperature 20 minutes before cutting.
  12. Spoon cherry pie filling over each square.
