Washed Lentils

  1. Wash lentils thoroughly.
  2. Place in pot with the water and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Cook about 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in salt, garlic, chili and mustard.
  5. Lower heat and simmer for 30 minutes until lentils are soft.
  6. In a skillet, heat the ghee and toss in the cumin seeds and chili powder.
  7. Top cooked dahl just before serving with ghee mixture.
