Juicy Puerto Rican Beans and Rice
- 12 tablespoon oil
- 4 slices black forest ham, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, squished
- 14 teaspoon ground cumin
- 14 teaspoon adobo seasoning, with cumin
- 1 (15 ounce) can red kidney beans, rinsed
- 1 (14 1/2 ounce) canpeeled no-salt-added diced tomatoes, in juice
- 12 tablespoon Tabasco sauce
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup uncooked jasmine rice
- 2 cups water
- Over medium heat, heat oil in a large saucepan.
- Add ham, garlic, cumin, and Adobo.
- Saute 3 minutes.
- Add beans, tomatoes, and tabasco sauce.
- Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add salt, rice and water.
- Bring to boil.
- Reduce heat, cover and simmer until rice is tender (20 minutes).
