Whole Wheat Buns--Homemade Mos Burger-Style Hamburgers

  1. While baking the buns in the bread machine, how about making meat sauce and hamburgers?
  2. Of course, store-bought ones are fine, too.
  3. After the first rise, remove from the bread machine and gently press out the air.
  4. Roll into equal sections and let sit for 15 minutes.
  5. Divided into 8, the buns will turn out voluminous.
  6. Divided into 10, it makes an easy-to-eat size for kids.
  7. After the dough sits, oil the circular mold and make nice round buns.
  8. If you don't have a circular mold on hand, roll the dough into balls, then press slightly on top.
  9. Then let them sit for a second rise.
  10. Once they rise, paint with egg wash (I use the egg white), sprinkle on some sesame seeds, then bake at 190C for 15 minutes, and they're done.
  11. While baking the buns, make the hamburgers.
  12. Shape them into sizes that will fit the buns.
  13. I succeeded in shaping nice buns with and without the circular mold.
  14. Using a circular mold gives the buns some height.
  15. Fry up the hamburgers while the buns are cooling.
  16. Once the hamburgers are done, cut the buns in half.
  17. Since they're fluffy and soft, wait until they cool down before cutting.
  18. In this order, layer the hamburger, minced onion, meat sauce, and tomato slices (optional), then they're ready to serve.
  19. Top with cheddar cheese to make a cheese burger.
  20. Serve with french fries and onions to make a perfect (?)
  21. Mos-Burger-Style hamburger.
