Walnut Praline Cheesecake Recipe
- 1 box graham cracker crumbs
- 3 tbsp. butter, melted
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 lbs. cream cheese
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tbsp. flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 ounce. praline
- 1/2 c. lowfat sour cream
- 2 Large eggs
- 1 c. Ricotta cheese
- Walnuts, whole pcs for garnish
- For crust, mix together graham cracker crumbs, butter, and sugar.
- This should be moist sufficient to hold together.
- Adjust butter to correct moistness.
- Press mix into a springform baking pan, forming a crust.
- You may press the crust up the sides of the pan if you like.
- Set aside for later use.
- With a mixer on low speed, combine the rest of the ingredients, except for the walnuts, till a smooth batter is formed.
- Gently pour batter into springform pan with crust.
- Preheat oven to 500 degrees.
- Place pan in a water bath and bake for 15 min, then reduce oven temperature to 300 degrees and bake for 45 min.
- Check cheesecake for a hard consistency, especially in the middle.
- When the entire cheesecake is hard, turn oven off and open door slightly to slowly cold the cake.
- This method prevents the top of the cake from cracking.
- Cut cake after completely cold.
- Garnish with whole walnuts.
- Serves: 12.
