Brioche des rois (Epiphany Bread)
- 340 g bread flour
- 50 g butter or margarine
- 40 g sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 egg
- 5-6 g dried active yeast
- 150 ml water or milk
- Mix the flour, butter (half-melted), sugar, salt, egg, yeast and water and knead well.
- Let it rise for 1-2 hours.
- Place the dough on a board and knead lightly to let the extra gas out.
- Make two rings.
- Let them rise again for about 1 hour.
- Bake in the oven preheated at 190 C for about 20-25 minutes.
- Turn the side in the middle of baking.
- Baked!
- Decorate the brioches.
- Spread the jam on the surface and put the pop sugar and drained cherries.
