Creamy Fruit Salad

  1. Drain orange sections, reserving syrup.
  2. Add enough water to syrup to measure 1 cup liquid.
  3. In a saucepan bring syrup-water mixture to boiling.
  4. Add gelatin, stirring to dissolve.
  5. Stir in orange juice.
  6. Gradually stir about 1 cup of the hot mixture into eggs; return all to saucepan.
  7. Cook and stir 2 minutes more. Remove from heat.
  8. Add sour cream and cream cheese; beat with a rotary beater until smooth.
  9. Chill until partially set (the consistency of unbeaten egg whites).
  10. Fold in orange sections, sliced banana and nuts.
  11. Turn into a 10 x 6 x 2-inch dish.
  12. Chill until firm.
  13. Cut into squares.
  14. Serve on lettuce lined salad plate.
  15. Makes 8 servings.
