From-Scratch Hot Cocoa
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 6 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 bag of regular or mini marshmallows
- In a medium-sized saucepan, mix the dry ingredients, and turn the stovetop to medium-low.
- Add 1/4 cup of the milk, and stir smooth.
- Stir in, bit by bit, more and more of the milk, but only as much at a time as can be added while keeping the liquid silky smooth.
- When all milk is incorporated, add the vanilla.
- Allow the hot cocoa to thicken just a bit, by stirring for about 5-7 more minutes, and then serve with marshmallows.
