- 1 1/4 ounces Tanqueray No. 10 gin
- 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 3/4 ounce simple syrup (page 154)
- 3 ounces Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut champagne
- 1 orange half-wheel, for garnish
- Pour the gin, juice, and syrup into a mixing glass.
- Add large cold ice cubes and shake vigorously.
- Pour the champagne into a large wine goblet over large cold ice cubes and drop in the orange half-wheel.
- Strain the cocktail over it.
- Dominant Flavors: citrus and juniper
- Body: light, lively, effervescent
- Dryness: dry
