French Canadian Meat Pie

  1. Combine pork, beef, onion and garlic in large heated skillet. Cook, stirring until meats lose pink color.
  2. Stir in seasonings and water.
  3. Cover; simmer 20 minutes.
  4. Uncover and simmer 10 more minutes.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Stir in mashed potatoes.
  7. Cool. Prepare pie crust.
  8. Line 2 plates with bottom crusts.
  9. Spoon half of meat into each pie shell.
  10. Roll out top crusts; place over meat. Brush top with beaten egg.
  11. Bake at 425u0b0 for 15 minutes.
  12. Reduce heat to 350u0b0; bake 25 minutes longer.
