Apple Sauce

  1. Put apples and water into medium saucepan.
  2. Cover and bring to a boil over med-high heat.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, still covered, stirring occasionally.
  4. Mash apples with fork or potato masher (they should yield easily).
  5. Return to heat for a couple minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Stir in spices.
  8. Serve warm or cold.
