E-Z Supper Slice
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. cracker crumbs
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 2 c. Parmesan cheese
- 1 loaf French or Italian bread (uncut)
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- pepper to your taste
- 2/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp. prepared mustard
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- cheese slices (strips)
- butter (oleo)
- Combine all ingredients except bread and strips of cheese.
- Cut loaf of bread in half lengthwise.
- Butter halves lightly.
- Spread mixture over top surface of bread evenly.
- Wrap heavy-duty foil around crust side of each half loaf, leaving top uncovered.
- Place on a cookie sheet; bake in a moderate oven, 350u0b0, for 25 minutes. Garnish with strips of cheese and bake 5 minutes longer.
- Place cheese to form X's on top of loaf.
- Remove from oven and cut into diagonal slices.
