Walnut Sour Cream Waffles Recipe
- 2/3 c. walnuts
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 3 Large eggs, separated
- 1 c. lowfat sour cream
- 1/2 c. butter, melted
- 1 c. lowfat milk
- Choice of toppings
- Chop walnuts medium fine.
- Resift flour with baking pwdr, salt and fold into mixing bowl.
- Beat egg yolks lightly with lowfat sour cream.
- Add in butter, and blend into dry mix alternately with lowfat milk.
- Stir in walnuts.
- Beat egg whites till barely stiff.
- Fold into batter.
- Bake in preheated waffle iron till golden.
- Serve with butter and syrup, with honey, whipped cream and strawberry preserves, sweetened whipped cream, or possibly your favorite topping.
- Makes about 5 c. batter, or possibly 5 or possibly 6 waffles.
