Low cholesterol mac & cheese
- 3 cup macaroni noodles
- 2 cup skim milk
- 1/3 cup liquid egg whites
- 2 tbsp margarine
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 cup skim milk
- 4 oz extra old cheddar
- 1/2 cup bread crums
- 4 oz extra old cheddar
- Boil water and start cooking noodles
- Preheat oven at 375F
- Melt the margarine in a small sauce pan
- Wisk in flour
- Wisk in milk gradually
- Keep stirring at medium heat until sauce thickens
- Mix in cheese until melted, then reduce heat to minimum
- Mix egg whites with milk in a bowl with a fork
- Pour noodles in casserole dish
- Pour base mixture on top and mix in with noodles
- Pour bechamel sauce evenly on top
- Top with crumbled cheese
- Sprinkle with bread crumbs
- Bake for 20min
