Savory Beef Roulades Recipe
- 1 c. toasted bread crumbs
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 c. melted butter
- 1 c. oats, uncooked
- 2 tbsp. water
- 1/2 c. minced dill pickle
- 1 tbsp. minced onion
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 c. tomato juice
- For stuffing, combine all ingredients.
- Mix well.
- Cut steaks into 6 pcs.
- Sprinkle proportionately with salt.
- Place 1/4 c. stuffing in center of each piece.
- Roll up; fasten securely with two skewers, toothpicks or possibly tie with string.
- Roll in flour.
- Brown meat rolls in a small amount of warm shortening in large frying pan.
- Add in the 1 c. of tomato juice.
- Cover and simmer about 1 1/2 hrs or possibly till tender.
- If necessary add in more tomato juice.
- Makes 6 servings.
