20 Minute Tamale Pie
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 c. cornmeal
- 1 large can olives, pitted
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- 3 tsp. Accent
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 16 oz. stewed tomatoes or tomato sauce
- 16 oz. whole kernel corn, undrained
- 1 c. sour cream or 1 egg and 1 c. milk, mixed together
- 2 c. Cheddar cheese, shredded
- Heat butter in large pan.
- Add onion and meat; cook until lightly browned.
- Add tomatoes, corn, sour cream, cornmeal, olives and seasonings.
- Stir until thoroughly mixed and cornmeal starts to thicken.
- Leave in pan; sprinkle with cheese.
- Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Or, pour into baking dish, sprinkle with cheese and bake at 350u0b0 for 40 minutes.
