Frosted Cranberry Squares
- 1 (13 1/2 oz.) can crushed pineapple (1 2/3 c.)
- 2 pkg. lemon jello (3 oz.)
- 1 c. ginger ale
- 1 (1 lb.) can jellied cranberry sauce (2 c.)
- 1 (2 oz.) pkg. dessert topping mix
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- Drain pineapple, reserving syrup.
- Add water to syrup to make 1 cup.
- Heat to boiling.
- Dissolve jello in this; cool.
- Gently stir in ginger ale.
- Chill until partially set.
- Blend pineapple and cranberry sauce and fold in.
- Turn into 9 x 9 x 2-inch dish. Chill until firm.
- Prepare dessert topping according to directions.
- Fold in cream cheese.
- Spread over jello.
- Put pecans in 1 tablespoon butter in moderate oven at 350u0b0 for 10 minutes. Sprinkle over top of jello.
- Makes 9 servings.
