Double Chocolate Crinkles
- 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 4 eggs
- 2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 6 oz. chocolate chips
- 1 c. confectioners sugar, sifted
- In a double boiler, melt chocolate and shortening. When melted, stir in sugar. Place mixture in a medium bowl. Cool. Beat until well blended. Add vanilla. Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. In another medium bowl, sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Stir flour mixture into chocolate mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Refrigerate dough several hours or overnight. Break off small pieces of chilled dough and form into 1 inch
- balls. Roll balls in powdered sugar, covering completely. Place balls 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 375u0b0 oven for 10 minutes.
