Frosted Brownies

  1. Heat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. Heat shortening and chocolate in 2-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until melted.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Stir in sugar, vanilla and eggs.
  5. Stir in remaining ingredients except frosting.
  6. Spread in a greased square pan (8 x 8 x 2-inch).
  7. Bake until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan (30 to 35 minutes).
  8. Cool slightly.
  9. Frost with Easy Chocolate Frosting.
  10. Cut into about 2-inch squares.
  11. Yields 16 brownies.
